Aldi opens its logistics centre

Based in Villeroux business park in Vaux-sur-Sûre, Aldi opened the extension to its logistics centre on 30 March 2017.

This new space covering 11,500 m² takes the total surface area of the distribution centre to 42,800 m². The extension will mainly be used for storing frozen products, with a capacity of 775 pallets, making it one of the biggest frozen storage spaces in Wallonia. This investment of €20 million has allowed the company to hire ten or so staff. In total, Aldi Vaux-sur-Sûre provides logistical support for around 70 stores based in the provinces of Luxembourg, Liège and Namur, and in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

Among the companies that delivered this large-scale project, 95% were Belgian and 75% were Walloon businesses. From the construction point of view, the supermarket chain chose to invest in green energy and making economies. Indeed, the new structure is covered with solar panels.

The province of Luxembourg: an Eden for logistical activities

After the opening of Lidl’s new distribution centre on 23 March in Marche-en-Famenne, which aims to reach the same markets and territories, we can say with certainty that our province offers a warm welcome for businesses looking to meet their needs in the field of logistics. As this industry is one of our areas of specialisation, IDELUX has helped many companies that make logistics a pillar of their organisation, offering them the ideal place to meet all their essential criteria in terms of location and access to main roads. Examples include Scott in Aubange, GLS in Habay, Jost in Aubange, and more.
